Darkness

As the days, weeks, months and years go by I have learnt that unkind thoughts can and do invade my mind at times.  But I like to think that I am learning to retract and replace such thoughts with gentler, kinder more forgiving ones.  This poem reflects that intention.

Darkness

Inky darkness fills my mind
With racing thoughts, of love unkind.
Wanton hope, like blended strokes
Brings balming waves, to soothe these times.
